Once you give the weeds a good torch (they won't look dead) come back and look at them a few hours later and they will be all brown and dead. At that point you can torch the dead remains or pull them up. Some larger weeds you might need to give another blast to make sure you kill it at the root. This thing is like a flame thrower!
